Soooo tired! Got the keys for our new home today yeahyyyyy!!!!! Finished empting draws and packing the random odds and ends now have to wait till tomorow night to start moving in.
We (the kids and I) just had a mad hour while we were sorting out the costume box, think excited children, late at night, fancy dress costumes being passed around the living room with fitts of giggles as they are all tried on and swaped around (any excuse to wear fancy dress)!!! Was hopeing to post a few pics but have packed all the cables up so that will have to wait. Any why I must get some sleep.
Hope all you wonderful people out in blog land are well and wishing you all a wonderful weekend xxx

and she loves it!
I like trying new things but don't think I will be reupholstering again in a hurry.
Next project is this....
Next project is this....
Broken chest of drawers (runners need replacing, a few extra screws here and there, lick of paint and some new handles should sort it). So thats my plan for tomorow. Can you tell I'm trying to keep busy and missing my jewellery making??!!
Sunny days
Today was such a lovely sunny day that the children and I went down to the very bottom of the garden (technically the neighbours garden but they are very kind and don't mind) Where there are literally hundreds of these beautiful black treasures.....
They made a lovely lunch time treat with some chattily cream and a dusting of icing sugar mmmmmmmm!!!
Mess makers sun flower has suddenly sprung open and shes completely over the moon with it.
With a bit of luck her chair should be finished tomorrow. It's taken a lot longer then expected as I had to hand sew half of it as I just can't work a sewing machine!!!
Oh and we go to sign the papers for the new place on Thursday sooooooo excited!

Mouse droppings-blog give away
Head on over to mouse droppings and check out this very cute give away....
Isn't he utterly adorable?
gardening
The garden has been growing so well concerdring the neglect it has recived since being told that we are moving!
We have tasted white cucumbers for the first time ever and it went down so well the girl and boy ate the whole thing in one go! (mess maker insisted it was yuck just by looking at it). I have to admit I like green cucmbers more, the white one tasted alot like water melon with out the freshness of normal cucumber, the skin was very tough and I am not a fan of seeds!
Only one green cucumber grew, but yum it was nice! This one again was eatten all in one go (with a small amount of the end saved for our sleepy eyes). It was really juciy and sooo fresh tasting.
Seeing the veg growing and helpping out has helped no end with getting the girl and boy to eat more veg, if only mess maker liked eatting it as much as she likes picking it!
It seems to have taken forever but masses of tomotoes are finally going red.
The sweetcorn is doing wonderfully. I was told to expect disipointment here as its quiet hard to grow but it seems to be likeing the neglect (lack of watering), and it turns out the fuzzy hair thing that it started sprouting is where the corn grows (hehehehe I just thought it would come out where the flowers were at the top, slightly embarased).
There are quiet a few corn cobs growing and I can wait till its fully grown!
I really have learnt alot about the amount of time and effort that goes in to growing veg and am really suprised that there is soo much diffrence in taste between fresh picked and shop brought. I think I will have to visit the local pick your own farm once we move!
Alas the sun flower has still not flowered yet! It stands a huge 7ft high and makes mess maker look like an ant but it looks promising.... any day now!!!

gingerbread house mmmmmmmmm!
I just finished watching a re-run of Heston's fantastical feasts (the fairy tails one), I missed it the first time round and all I can say is OH WOW!
I would have loved to have been there and now I really, really want a life sized gingerbread house with boiled sweets stained glass windows and a welcome door mat cake!
But have had to make do with a large slice of Thortons lemon cake!
I have packed up half most of my jewellery making stuffs today, as there is sooo much still to do and I kept stopping mid track and playing with bits of silver and sparkly things.
Still working on the chair!!!

Learning a new skill????
I started a new project today and was hopping to have finished photos to post but it seems that reupholstering is ALOT harder then I first thought!!!
This is a photo of mess makers once purple plastic tub chair. I had intended to cover it in a nicer (non biro graphite) material when she first drew all over it, but as is more often then not the case, I forgot all about it! Until Sunday when we went sofa shopping.
To cut a long story short I found some material in the same color as the new sofa (slate grey) and thought it would be nice if they matched.
After pulling out the hundred or so staples holding the fabric in place I then pulled off the material and cut it in to sections to use as templates.
It was going well and really looked like I knew what I was doing until it came to the sewing.... I had all the material pinned together then sat at the sewing machine when it dawned on me.... I have never used a sewing machine!!!
Ahhh how hard could it be??!!
Well,.....VERY it would seem!
The cotton is threaded in some mystical way so as to scare off any new comers... and then there is the foot pedal (I have no foot control it is one of the reasons I don't drive and most of the reason I can't dance) To say I found it a little difficult to control the speed would be an understatement!
Any way attempt number one did not fit at all but I will not be beat!!!
Attempt number two is laying on the ground and I will try again tomorrow...........
To be continued!
