Art Jewelry Boot Camp BLOG HOP: Textured Metal Challenge

So with the challenge to add texture to metal here is what I came up with....

Lots of lovely copper discs, the front ones were made from hammering two discs sandwiching a lace butterfly and the pinstripe looking ones were made with canvas.

These beautiful little heart head pins are by the fab Bo Hulley Beads.

I would have loved to have made something with all of the copper discs but as we are in Easter holidays time is tight so for now it is just the earrings, but I'm sure the others will end up being used soon.

Why not head on over to Love My Art Jewelry and see what everyone else has come up with.

Have a great day x

  2. Wow! Super cool idea to use the filigree butterfly and the canvas. I never would have thought you could make an impression with the natural material being so floppy but you did it! The butterfly gave it a really neat texture that you just wouldn't get with regular wire. Very creative lady!

Love the two for one sandwich idea!! Such wonder texture from both the lace and canvas. Had no idea this could be done without the benefit of a rolling mill. Next on my list to try out!
