We're All Ears :: October Reveal

Today I am joining in with the fab Earrings Everyday, October blog hop. Now I have to admit, I had never heard of Project Runaway before hearing about it on the Earrings Everyday Blog and had to google it (hey, I'm from the UK) but I feel in love with the stunning designs they showed by designer Monique Lhuillier....

So the challenge was to select one of these looks and create a pair of earrings to accessorise it!

I also must admit, I'm not in the least bit fashionable! Nope, not a bit! If I happen to be wearing some thing fashionable it was more then likely brought by my other half or I have had it so long that it may well have come into fashion again!!! I tend to dress for comfort/ease and in the dark (often with paint splats or a random pen in my hair) or in strips (I love stripes). But occasionally I do love to dress up and go all girly and these dresses are so beautiful!!! Purple always screams Royalty and opulence to me so hopefully this shows in my design....

I made some hammered copper and set amethyst connectors paired with a beautiful pair of lampwork head pins (that have a wonderful lacy look to them) from the lovely Linda of Earth Shine Beads! I hope you like what I created and please check out what everyone else created! x

I love druzys, I love the way they sparkle when they catch the light in that magical fairy like way! The lucky

little girl that is getting yesterdays charm bracelet is also getting a matching druzy necklace, and here is how 

it was made....

Then set the stone and polish to a lovely shine....

Recovering

My chest infection turned into pneumonia so I have been on lots of pills that make me more confused then normal and leave a nasty taste in my mouth (yuk), so not much making going on but I feel a lot better now and I do have a few pics to show you.....

Remember this one from ages ago....

well I was not 100% happy with it so tinkered and....

Now much happier, I took off the bead caps, as it was a bit bulky and distracted from the completely stunning bead then added a much smaller simpler one and lastly I liver of sulphured it, the black color goes much better with the galaxy.

Scrap pot

So what do you do when your all out of silver but have to make some thing? You raid your scrap pot, or at least that's what I did for this one....

All the rings are different sizes and were all bent up so I hammered them all flat, linked them together in a simple one in one chain, added a few dragonfly charms (every time I order jump rings they put in a free dragonfly charm so I have a few of these hanging around), made some headpins with folded ends from tiny scraps of silver (all different gauges) to hang lots of sparkly purple swarovski crystals then dunked the whole thing in some liver of sulphur solution et voila!

Not my normal style but the thing I really love about this bracelet is the sound it makes when you wear it... It sounds like lots of tiny bells.

Think I might have to go through my scrap pot more often!

Swirls necklace

After some much needed practise at soldering I came up with this....

A very simple swirls necklace to hang this very beautiful lampwork bead (of course by Laura Sparling)

The bead has such a beautiful swirl inside it and is so tactile.
