Focus on Life Week 22 Foodie

Hmmm, now I have to admit I am no foodie, I have children so I have to cook, but I neither enjoy it nor am I very good at it! I put it down to the pressure of expectations! Mostly I HATE cooking for my other half, because he is a much better cook than I am, he understands herbs and spices and what go with what and even remembers what ingredients go into what ever it is he is making, where as my style of cooking is a lot more hap hazard!!! 

The other half calls me queen of the oven, if it goes in the oven I can cook it (Roast dinners are about the only thing I can confidently cook but really is about it, but I'm fine with that).

Now this week was half term and while I have taken many, many photos none of them have been of food, partly due to the fact I have been lucky enough to avoid most cooking this week and partly because  we have eaten out quiet a lot! So I am going to cheat on this post and show you some of the pretty birthday cakes I have made and forgot to post (Cake is food right, and it makes up quiet a large amount of what I eat)....

 This was my nieces  birthday cake half way through, I used a Willson castle cake kit, which made my job 10 times easier, and here it is all finished....

It was so huge I had to finish it off at the party, and here is mess makers 5th birthday cake which was the beginning of May....

She is Laalaaloopsy mad at the moment and luckily for me quiet easily pleased!

I'm really looking forward to everyone else's posts, hopefully I might pic up a new recipes for the other half to cook!

For some reason she thinks every day should be her birthday!!???

The girl decided that she would like to design a pendent for her teacher as a Christmas present as this is the result..........

How good is she! Only problem now is that she keeps asking to look at my bead collection, I think she has her eye on some of them!

Another birthday cake....

Tomorow is my nicece first birthday and I got told I was to make her cake so after 3 hours in the kitchen making a through mess heres the end results.....

Another waybuloo cake!

My kitchen looked like it had been attacked by fairys as the is glitter every where, and mess maker kept handing me her plate, asking for a slice.

Cant belive we are into November and I still have not started my christmas shopping yet....I know........ I am one of those annoying people that like to have all the gifts brought, wrapped and ready to go under the tree as soon as it goes up, But in my defence December is the buisiest month for me, we dont just have the normall stuff like christmas, boxing day and new year but also its my eldest daughters birthday, then my uncals, then my arnties, then my other halfs, then mine followed by another two anties (as you can tell I come from a large family), and I hate shopping in crowed places, getting pushed this way, with everyone in a hurry so I think I am going to get as many gifts online and delivered to my door as I can.

X-Rated

I finished one of the cakes today, and as I managed to delegate one of the others (due to two being due on the same day) I have now only have one left to make.

I'm going to warn you first though this one is a little X-rated! It is a surprise for my sisters fiancee....

Its boobs!

Not my choice of cake but I'm assured he will love it. I did enjoy making the handcuffs because I coated them in edible glitter so they sparkle!

The next cake will be more tasteful I promise (I am choosing the design)! It's for my mum and is inspired by the facebook game treasure island that she loves sooo much! 

Hear is a little teaser.......

We received a phone call today, saying that we can go and see the flat that the council are considering us for. So we go and see it tomorrow, still not getting hopes up though because they still have not said it is ours, and we still wont find out until middle of next week!

birthday cake

Lana had a great 2nd birthday and she loved her cake! Its my first attempt at a birthday cake but turned out well. I loved making the little waybuloo figures but oh my what a mess, it took almost as long to clean up as it did to decorate!
